Ashton Kutcher Files for Divorce after 1 Year Separation from Demi Moore

By Nottage and Ward on January 4, 2013

It has been 13 months since actress Demi Moore announced filing for divorce from actor Ashton Kutcher, but she never actually took the step to officially file. On December 21, 2012, Ashton Kutcher took that step and filed for divorce from Demi Moore, citing irreconcilable differences in the court documents, according to TMZ.

The original move to divorce was allegedly the result of accusations of infidelity involving Kutcher and a younger woman. Kutcher’s filing for divorce so late was due to his waiting for Moore to initiate the divorce process, but when she didn’t, Kutcher, who is currently dating actress Mila Kunis, decided it was time. There was speculation that the delay in filing was the result of fighting over money or even because they were never really married, both of which are apparently false.

The couple, whose 16-year age difference has been well-publicized, were married in September 2005 and have no children together.

Celebrities may always be in the limelight, but that does not mean that they do not have the same types of problems as other married couples, though perhaps on a different level. If divorce is the right decision for a celebrity couple, then they have to go through the same process as everyone else.

If you are a celebrity or otherwise high-profile couple in Illinois and are considering divorce, the experienced Chicago high-profile divorce attorneys at Nottage and Ward can help you obtain the best divorce settlement possible in your situation. Leslie has been the strongest representation I could ask for in a very complicated, emotional matter. She has continuously looked out for my best interest and the best interest of my son. She is always prompt in getting back to me and in keeping me well informed about my case.
